In February 2008 Sinomlando signed a partnership agreement with the Greater Edendale Development Initiative (GEDI), a project of the Msunduzi Municipality, for an oral history project on the history of the Edendale area. Sinomlando has agreed to provide training and academic guidance to the fieldworkers recruited by GEDI. In 2009 group of five fieldworkers with a BA qualification or equivalent was then recruited. After a 3-day training workshop facilitated by Radikobo Ntsimane they started interviewing prominent community members. In 2010 two postgraduate students from the University of KwaZulu-Natal joined the team. To date approximately twenty interviews have been conducted and transcribed.
